Hello World!

In the early days of the internet, web pages looked a little bit like this. It was a lot more simple before big tech, big data, addictive algorithms, and constant advertising. This website is a nod to a time when the internet felt more free and full of good possibilities. These days everyone could use a little less heavy content, so every so often I will upload something nostalgic here. • NEW! (09/23/26) Microsoft Excel 3.0 Ad - 1992
  
  

  In 1992, This ad for Microsoft Excel 3.0 was in Byte magazine. This was Microsoft's answer to the now defunct Lotus spreadsheet software offered by IBM in the 1980s. You could get the software for $129 by calling Microsoft's 1-800 line.



• 09/18/26 Bill Gates Gets a Pie in the Face - 1998
  
  

  In 1998, Noël Godin threw a pie in the face of Microsoft CEO Bill Gates. Media outlets reportedly paid about $4,000 per photo of the event. Godin was an activist trying to make a statement about corporate power. The LA Times quipped "at least it wasn't an Apple pie". Noël Godin recently passed away on August 26, 2026.
